    [table][tr][td]I am having some issues setting up my son's Microsoft account to use with Minecraft on a playstation device. We set him up with a Microsoft account for this back in 2022. Unfortunately we lost the password to his Microsoft account and control of that account almost immediately. I get that I have lost the original account at the Microsoft end but we own and control the PSN account, paying a yearly subscription on it. It feels like we should have a right to ask Microsoft to release the PSN account so we can associate it with the new Microsoft account, or at least be able to release it ourselves from the PSN account we have control over.We left him logged into his Minecraft on playstation account since then up till recently when we made some changes to the devices we have, we are now unable to sign in. I can't find anywhere in the PSN account an approved connection to the old Microsoft email address which is now lost and I'm unable to break that connection myself. I've just gone round in circles trying to select the appropriate help line from Microsoft support but it's not getting me to this question to direct at someone in Microsoft.If anyone has a way round this I would be grateful to hear it because as it stands at this time, online Minecraft has been completely shut down by Microsoft in this instance.[/td][/tr][/table]

    Thanks for your reply, this tool rings a bell and I’m sure we tried it back in 2022 when we were locked out the account but couldn’t get back in. Now that 3 years have passed I can’t even remember what the email address was.

    I find this crazy that a PSN account can now no longer play a game because they’ve lost a Microsoft account.

    I can understand your concern and please don't worry I am here to help you.

    Unfortunately, once your Microsoft account is linked to your PlayStation account, it cannot be unlinked. This decision comes directly from PlayStation.

    What I can recommend is that you use the tool offered by Microsoft to recover accounts to which you no longer have access.

    In the following link you can follow the step by step process to recover your account: https://account.live.com/acsr

    From there you can use a new email address to recover your account and have the Microsoft team contact you. I recommend that you answer all the questions and do not leave any unanswered. It is important to follow the step by step process to recover your account. It can take up to 24 hours for the Microsoft team to review your account recovery request and contact you directly.

    Please keep in mind that this is a public forum. I am an Xbox gamer like you and I am happy to help you with my knowledge. Unfortunately, I am unable to access your internal account information.

    According to Mojang: ' Once a Microsoft account has been linked to a PlayStation Network account, it cannot be unlinked without loss of access to entitlements and Minecoins on other platforms '

    In this case, you can check options on Mojang's end.

    When trying to login it says "this account does not exist"

    I had already migrated my account way earlier it's just that the Microsoft account messed up and it also messed up all the connected things ( since I had migrated, my Minecraft was tied to my Microsoft account but now I've lost it since I lost the account )
