    I recently took a trip down nostalgia lane playing the remake of Destroy All Humans and then decided to download the original xbox version which was free with games with gold in June of 2020. I acquire the licences for all the games with gold every month even if I don't download them so I was surprised to find that Destroy All Humans on the original xbox was not in my download list. Running the alpha skip ahead build it's often the case that sometimes there are errors so I went to the Microsoft website to download this only to find that it wanted me to pay for the game again. I contacted Microsoft customer services and spoke to a rep that could only be described as not very helpful and proceeded to spend 20 minutes with him telling me that it was a time limited trial and the all games with gold are temporary and can only be played for a few weeks. I tried in vain to explain that I think he was getting confused with the recent remake trial but I couldn't get through to him so I gave up. I wonder if there's an issue with licenses, especially given we're getting a new store tomorrow. Does anyone know how I can escalate this? I've reported the issue on the Xbox but I'd really like my content back and problems like this worry me going forward to a fully digital future. Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks.

    Unfortunately, that is by design. Purchases are tied to the account you purchased them on and I'm assuming, you are wanting to transfer all your games to the new account and that is not possible.

    Someone confirmed to me this is accurate, they swapped a physical copy of forza for a digital code, entered the code and only had to download a licence :)

    unfortunately with all digital games, you purchase the licence to play them and don't actually own the game, and all companies with digital content have the right (which you agreed to when purchasing and downloading) to make them unavailable with short notice
    and there is no comeback on this, it stated in every game or app digitally bought on any platform that your licenced to use that game or app for as long as it is available.
