Lost Achievement & Game Progress

So... never thought I'd have to use the forums before, but I've searched and have yet to find an answer to my troubles. I'm back on Xbox (series S in particular) after about a year of playing on other platforms. I was very shocked to see that after booting up Warframe, that my progress, platinum, and all my achievements are gone. Smite also had an issue with my achievements, but ended up remembering that I'd played the game, for wayyy too long, and bombarded me with my achievements while I was trying to play a conquest match (I don't recommend that, you get tired of hearing it after the first five). I am very nervous about attempting to restart if I can boot up Warframe one day and lose everything again. How do I fix this? How do I get my correct achievement score/achievements in general back?

Hi there Series welcome to the community forum! Christopher here, an Xbox fan just like you and has been on Xbox for years already. I would really love to make your day by helping you out. This happens sometimes! Have you tried logging off your account? Before you do that do this first!

Open the Xbox Guide by pressing the guide button on the controller and select

Settings.

Select Network Settings.

Select Advanced Settings.

Under Change Settings select Alternate MAC Address.

Select Clear.

Allow the console to restart when prompted.

You're absolutely right- once an achievement is earned & synced with Xbox it should be earned for life. Now I'm wondering what could have happened in that period with Xbox where it didn't sync the achievements. I'll definitely look into this and see what
I can find.

Which game are you referring to?

Achievements are separate to game progress, so if your game save is lost, you would lose your in-game progress, including unlocked cars, in-game currency etc., but any achievements you unlocked would still be unlocked. So, it sounds like your save is missing for the game.

your progress is not lost. Your saved games are. Unless their in the cloud. (very useful by the way,) You will still have all your achievements.

This has happened to me as well. Lost all my tracking progress for Forza Horizon 2 - when I checked the achievement app thoroughly, the progress on all locked achievements is now showing as 0%
