    my dad, who owns the parent account linked to this one, passed away and nobody knows how to log in to his Microsoft account to remove me from the family thing which is restricting me from doing a vast number of things. please help (sorry if its vague)

    Hi T0x1c,

    Thanks for reaching out to the forums. We are sorry to hear about the parent account. You will need to reach out to support for assistance. Basically you will need to be removed from the family. Once removed, you can then add yourself to another parent account.

    When you go to Contact Us,follow these steps to request a call from support:



    • Step 1 ----click on Contact us
    • Step 2 ----under what you having trouble with select Subscriptions & billing
    • Step 3-----under what is the issue I can't redeem a code then hit next

      Step 4 ----scroll down to select request a call

    Once they call explain the issue and they will be able to help you. Note that these options regularly change so just keep selecting something that gives request a call from support as a contact option.

    Have you tried contacting your parents to get the information? Otherwise, Call Phone support for account issues. You can also purchase a prepaid Gold membership card from most

    major retail stores. GOOD LUCK!!!

    Aaah, OK, gotcha. Do you have a friend with a console you could use? That may be the easiest way.

    Have the owner of the parental account call support. If they can answer some account specific questions support will be able to provide the email address to you.
