Lost Access to Minecraft Due to Migration - No Notification Received!

Hey everyone,

I’m really frustrated right now and wanted to see if anyone else is dealing with the same issue. I recently lost access to my Minecraft game because apparently there was a migration of Mojang accounts to Microsoft accounts in December 2023. I somehow missed this deadline and now I'm being told I have to buy the game again.

The thing is, I never received any email or notification about this migration. I had no idea this was happening, so I didn’t have a chance to take any action. I've checked my mailbox five times, and there’s absolutely nothing from Mojang or Microsoft about this. To make matters worse, I’ve had this account and the game since 2013. Due to health and personal reasons, I haven't been able to play on my PC for the past year, which is why I missed this migration.

I've read through the rules, checked the wiki, and there's no answer to my problem. Microsoft Support isn't responding, and there’s no direct way to contact them about this issue.

This feels incredibly unfair and almost like a scam. Has anyone else experienced this? Were you able to resolve it without having to repurchase the game? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. If Microsoft doesn’t resolve this, I’m seriously considering filing a complaint with the authorities.

They spent 2 years warning people via every avenue available this this was going to happen and multiple warnings were sent out as the date got closer. I seem to recall a pop-up even happening in the game

if you cannot access your microsoft account and have 2fa active then they are right all is lost, and as the microsoft account is the account that minecraft migrated too you have now lost minecraft if you cannot access the microsoft account.

Ok, I lost access to the account, and the email the Minecraft account was migrated to was changed so I wouldn’t be able to gain anything from accessing it anyway. What should I do?

Based on the information you have provided, you are right, you don't have to do anything to play the full Java edition of Minecraft if you migrated your Mojang account to a Microsoft account 2 years ago. Your account is now migrated and you will be able to continue playing Minecraft as you did before.

The notification you saw about account migration before September 19 was referring to Mojang accounts that had not yet been migrated. If you had not migrated your account before September 19, you would have lost access to the full Java edition of Minecraft.

So, rest assured, your account is safe and you can continue playing Minecraft as you did before.

Give me my account back as i got so many minecraft server rank and and lvl 50 on hypixel. now i lost my account due to not migrate. IM NOT VERY HAPPY WITH YOU.
