    Loop in the gamertag change window, can't purchase gamertag.


    I'm using Xbox app on pc.

    I've accidentally changed my gamertag and wanted to change it back, which requires 10$.

    whenever I set my payment method and return to the tag change window, it just tells me to set another payment method.

    but when I check my Microsoft account the payment method is in fact, already linked.

    I already have 7+ payment method linked to my account due to this loop. I've tried E-wallet, phone bill.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Hi user, sorry you're dealing with this issue while trying to change your gamertag.

    First, make sure there are no outages on the Xbox Status page:

    Can you try changing the gamertag in a different web browser or device? It could be a site/cache issue.

    If the same loop happens on another device, it might be a temporary issue with the servers, so you can try just waiting a bit to see if it starts working.

    If you type in the gamertag you want and it just loops right back to the main list-chances are that gamertag has a prohibited word or phrase in it.

    What is the gamertag you are trying to change it to?

    Ive been out of the loop on gamertag changes, mine is 15 characters and I don't really want to change it so hopefully the limit only effects new gamertags.

    Hi,

    Each Microsoft Account/Gamertag is tied to its purchases.

    You can share games together by making the gamertag a Home account, you can't change complete ownership of dial purchases between accounts/gamertags though.

    No if the windows live I'd was changed then your gamertag is no longer associated with the gamertag . Only the windows live associated with the gamertag would be locked . Your password would be still changed . Usually when a account is compromised they change
    the windows live ID to make it harder for you to recover
