Looking for NON shooter multiplayer games

...Maybe I should also add the caveat that if you look at Halo titles at a game store to be advised that there is a non-shooter Halo title, Halo Wars, which is a real time strategy game. If you specifically want a shooter, avoid that one.

If the game is primarily a shooter, I prefer 1st person. If the game is melee, swordplay, or similar, then I prefer 3rd person.

For RPGs or non-shooter action I also prefer 3rd, especially if there are lots of customization options for look, clothing, etc.

Good to see gtaiv in the top ten. Dead island is a non shooter in the top 20. Forza4 and gear3 would be a couple I would look into if you were looking for a game.

First of all the people on here crying about their being no single player need to shut up about it being a bad game because of it. Lets see multiplayer only shooters that are at the top of their respective brands. Counter-Strike, Quake; Enemy Territory
(the original on PC, not that garbage they ported to consoles), Unreal Tournament, MAG, Planetside, and do I need to go on. Some of the best shooters ever made have been multiplayer only. Hate to break it to the ones bashing the game, but there are many
non single player shooters out there that blow games like Battlefied, COD, and even Xbox's precious Halo out of the water.

Yeah, I really feel for the bland, voiceless characters in many multiplayer shooters. What's the back-story of that random ski-masked guy I killed in multiplayer? Oh yeah, nothing. That's like a total non sequitur anyway.

There are no consequences of no-scoping or camping. Maybe it annoys try-hards that take games really seriously. That's a chip on their shoulder though, not the fault of the one camping or employing ' tactics.'
