Looking for best set up for Xbox 1 modem router 4K tv ip4 vsip6 or does any of this matter

I did solve my problem. To recap, my ISP does support IPv6, my router also supports IPv6, the various computers on my home network are connected via IPv6, but my Xbox was reporting only IP4 connection. While I had turned my Xbox off, I didn't do a hard
reset so the Xbox, despite being "off" it was still assigned its IP4 address. I unplugged the Xbox, and for good measure I also unplugged the Cable modem and router I used. Left them off for about 5 minutes. Restarted the cable modem and router till they
fully came online so the DHCP on the router was functioning. I then plugged the Xbox back in which forced a reassignment of its network address and viola, I had both IP4 and IPv6 addresses for the Xbox. In the end it was the fast start-up mode of the Xbox
that was foiling me. Hopefully that helps you as well.

Looking at the Samsung TV. No where does it state it is 4K, so I wouldn't bother with that one. The LG one from Amazon does have 4K, so that is a decent choice. The Sony TV from Curry's also does not have 4K by looking at it. So your best option is the LG
one from Amazon.

The orininal problem still remains. My Xbox won't connect and my pc will. Now I have a new test subject, an LG tv with internet connectivity. It reacts quite oddly.



If I turn off my router/modem and pull every other ethernetcable other than the tv's, and then power it back up, the tv seems to connect to internet allright. It finds the network, it can find out that there is a software update to be loaded etc. I am not
yet certain for how long this state of affairs would remain if left alone (ie. no other ethernet cable connected to router/modem).



Then, when I put the cable from my PC to the router/modem, the tv goes crazy. It disconnects from the internet and starts blinking "Wired network is not set. Do you want to set wired network? YES/NO" and "Wired LAN cable disconnected". The screens blink
one after the other like 1/second and I can't react fast enough to press any button to the dialog.



And through all of this, my %&!#¤ PC connection stays on, no matter what. Any suggestions/questions anyone? Why does my router/modem want to connect my PC, but not anything else?

Any TV and device combo is going to only be as good as the best the lesser item can handle. 4k TV is nice and future proof but it's not going to make a device better then it inherently is. If a game is only built to be 720p the best 1080p TV isn't going
to matter for the most part. Perhaps 4k support and development will come in the future, but right now I'm unaware of anything that your setup can take advantage of.

If the image is bad though perhaps you can make sure your settings are running at their best. To into settings and choose the proper settings for your TV instead of using auto-select. You can also go into the TV configuration and follow the steps to establish
your tv's settings. Good luck.

the #1 port on your "modem" should go to your "router"...just unplug the "router" and plug in the xbox ...then reboot the "modem" and the xbox and retest....

to disable the router settings of your modem , get the model number and i'll look it up if I can , you will have to log into it to change the settings....sometimes , this can only be done by your isp , if they have decent tech support , you could call them
on that part...
