    Achievement Assistance

When you're trying to get certain achievements for a game you're playing, do you try to get the achievements without assistance, or do you look up information about the achievement online? Personally, I try to get the achievement independently first, but certain achievements are almost impossible without at least some help, so I have been known to Google the achievement for a map or Youtube video.

Isn't Pinwheel's attack classified as magic as well? Although killing pinwheel shouldn't take long enough to warrant getting hit :)

    [/quote]

LOL. I don't think I was ever hit by Pinwheel.

This is the best game this gen.

The word "difficult" is misleading. It has a learning curve, and a lot of little tricks to learn. However, it is possibly the best videogame in the history of videogames...and I don't make that comment lightly. Anyone with a console owes it to themself
to at least try this game. It can quickly become your lifestyle.

Tip 1 - My biggest piece of advice for ANYONE new to this game is, before attempting an area yourself, always put down your summon sign and help people. You will learn the area, get tips on fighting enemies, and the best part is, if you die, you lose NOTHING.
If you beat the boss, you have all kinds of souls to use for leveling or upgrading.

Tip 2 - spend as many souls on upgrading weapons as you do on leveling. In the early going, what you want is to put most souls into vitality, and the rest into minimum stats for weapons you like. 20 Vit should get you through the first half of the game.
12 to 15 in End is good for the first half. Then as you move into new areas you'll be able to make elemental weapons, or wield better, bigger weps. By the time you reach Sens, you should have at least made one weapon that is above +5. If you have one at
+10, you can make it elemental in Anor Londo. If you have the patience, get the Covetous gold ring in sens, then go back to the swamp and farm slugs. You'll have a ton of upgrade materials.

Tip 3 - get a good shield. The heater is one of the best low level shields in the game, and can be purchased for 1000 souls at the first merchant. I have beaten the game on low levels with only the heater. After that, you would move to the Balder (dropped
by knights, or purchased in Sens), and for the later parts of the game, the Black Knight shield. If you are a highly mobile character, the Green Crest (found in Darkroot basin) will help your stamina regen, but it has only 95% physical block, and the stability
is mediocre. This is a shiled you use only for backup if you dodge all the time.

Tip 4 - Always have consumables like moss mapped for quick access, especially in Blighttown. You'll get poisoned, but it's not a big deal. Still, never go down there without some.

Tip 5 - Despite what people tell you, there are no perfect weapons, and very few that suck. Test the movesets, and if there's one you're comfortable with, upgrade it. It's a personal choice, and most weapons are fine for the right person.

Tip 6 - Get past Capra and into the depths so you can rescue the Laurentius. He'll give you a pyro glove and sell you spells. Take a couple of attunement slots so you can use Pyro and healing (12 att and 12 faith should do you fine). A couple of pyro spells
will make some bosses MUCH easier.

Tip 7 - If you go into Blighttown, bring a crossbow or a bow, a spear or rapier, and the Spider shield (which you find in the Depths). The most difficult parts of this area tend to be the mosquitos and the blowdart guys. Keep the Spider up always, and use
the spear/rapier to poke without breaking your guard. If they hit you, you'll go toxic fast.

Tip 8 - Upgrade the light crossbow to +14. You won't regret it. Most underappreciated weapon in the game. It can be found in the undead burg, and with even 1 upgrade will one-shot most of the enemies in that level.

Tip 9 - Lure. Never charge into a mob. Even veterans of the game who do this die most of the time. Advance only as far as it takes for the first one to come at you, or if you have a bow, use it.

Tip 10 - Have fun, and remember that even losing a chunk of souls is no big deal. Help one person with a boss, and you'll earn as many, if not more, back, and you'll probably have a blast. Participate in coop as much as you can. It's the core essence of
    this game.

    Hope this helps.
