Looking for a good monitor for series x

You've stated twice in your post about a PC. What exactly is it you're looking for? A PC or a Monitor?

If it's just a monitor you're after, don't make the mistake of buying 'any monitor' that fits your budget and hope that it works, because as SwordofWhedon has already stated, many monitors have compatibility issues with consoles. Just because a display says it does 144Hz, doesn't mean you'll get 120Hz on the Xbox. Many monitors, especially older models, have their own custom timings that don't conform to the VESA standard that the Xbox expects.

Series S is largely a 1080P console with some games running at 1440P. If you connect a Series S to a 4K display it won't look great. Series X looks good on both 1080P and 4K displays.

If it's purely for Xbox use, then I'd stick with a conventional display rather than an Ultrawide.

Curved screen will be fine.

Main thing will be looking for something with a low latency, although most gaming monitors will have this anyway. Try to avoid a TN panel if possible as they are not as good as IPS and others. There are a lot of very good monitors around to suit both your budget and the resolution being played at (1080p, 1440p, 4k).

One thing to consider: If there is the possibility of upgrading to a next gen console (Series X, Series X) during the monitor's life, then you will be wanting to look at something above 60Hz (most good gaming monitors are but some only go to 60Hz)...the next gen consoles can run 120fps (120Hz) depending on the console and resolution

It's not a good idea to pick any monitor for Xbox gaming, for the simple reason that most of these older monitors are sold and marketed towards PC gamers where high refresh rates can be fully utilised via display port. PC gamers looking for a monitor don't really look at the specs of the provided HDMI ports.

I was interested in a widescreen monitor, and have been waiting patiently for Microsoft to release information that the Series X would support it.

The info that is available shows that the Series X has an HDMI 2.1 output. I have checked around looking for monitors, and it looks like only a few Televisions have HDMI 2.1 input, but I haven't seen a single 16:9 or 21:9
monitor.

So even though Samsung was quoted as “We’re pushing, we’re talking,” nudging Microsoft to have the Series X support widescreen, I imagine we would be paying a hefty price for the newest monitors on top of paying whatever Microsoft charges
for the Series X. I hope not.

I apologize for not making my point clear earlier. I have an Xbox One S console and am looking for a monitor to connect it to in order to play FIFA 23. I am willing to spend a reasonable amount on a monitor, but I do not want it to be too expensive. I would like the monitor to be suitable for use with an Xbox Series S/X, in case I decide to upgrade in the future. I am seeking recommendations for monitors that are compatible with consoles and do not have any issues. Thank you.
