Do one of your friends have him as a friend? You could check their friends list to see.

Also if you've played with him recently check your recent players list by going to your friends list and scrolling right twice. Depending on how much you play it can go up to the past several days. Send him a message or friends request to unblock communication

I just thought I might add if you flip over the back of any Xbox 360 game case and look toward the bottom it will have some of the features of the game and one will say 'Players' always check there to see if the game is couch coop as it will say for example
'Players 1-4'

One of two things happened

1. You signed in with a Microsoft account that had never had a xbox profile attached to it before and the system auto generated you a gamertag. (double check the email address associated with old gamertag)

2. like Internet Expert said the old gamertag violated the code of conduct and someone reported it and the enforcement team changed it.

now you can contact xbox support by going to support.xbox.com/contact-us and they can look your account up with your email address and tell you if your account has ever had any other gamer tags attached to it and when it was changed if it ever was.

so if you contact them with your email and they say this is the only gamer tag that has ever been attached to that email then you can give them the original gamertag and if they can verify ownership of that account they can tell you what the email address
is that is associated with that particular gamertag.

I absolutely have achievements for both Left 4 Dead 1 and 2 on this Xbox account. This is the only Xbox account I've ever had.

I redeemed the 1 year trial the last time I purchased it. When I was going to look back at the 1 year trial, its not here anymore. The 1 year trial is on the hot deal on August the 15th and I won’t be able to save about 22,500 microsoft even if I had a
chance to buy 4 three month trials, it’ll take months longer to purchase them. Microsoft company or who ever is in charge, could you please bring back the 1 year trial?
