    Longer Gamertag for older systems


    Hi there, i was unaware of the single change limit on gamertag (that's free). but wouldn't mind it so much except the only game I play uses the old style which will by default append the number.

    I have seen that when you want to change your gamertag there is an option for old systems that supports 15 characters at least, I have tested to see if the long gamertag I want is available, it is.

    I want to only change that section of my tag.

    Background over now for the question.

    Can I please change have my gamertag changed for the older systems.

    To keep my current new style tag for this I would have to change it to something else and change it back to edit the field I am referring to.

    The long one I would want is "TheJammyEmperor"

    The 3 month wait no longer applies. That was part of an older system.

    I paid for a gamertag change. Gamertag (12 character) and custom gamertag (15 character) they both changed for an hour then the 12 character gamertag reverted back to my last gamertag.

    Your classic only shpwd in older games that domt Supply the new gamertag system

    And the new one on the newer games

    If it's bc title they will never er be updated to the new system you are just going tk have to rely on the newer gamertag for new games and classic for older

    Gamertag Character limit increase

    The limitation is due to older games and developers not wanting to put in the time to alter the gamertag recognition for the new #system. The reason for the #system is to enable more gamertags to be in use. If you are the original owner of a gamertag,
    you won't have a #number after it.

    I need my old gamertag back but it was longer than twelve letters but before you were able to have 15 letters

    They still have the longer gamertags because they haven't changed their gamertag with the new system.

    Want To Remove Classic Gamertag:

    Sorry about the inconvenience this has caused.

    You can not remove a classic Gamertag since some older games rely on the old Gamertag system. Newer games and Xbox One system and Windows 10 will show your new Gamertag.
