Login issue on Forza Horizon 5 after updating to Windows 11

I have an issue logging in to the game after not having played it for about 6 months and updating to Windows 11.

I open the game, and it asks me to verify my identity through windows hello or a security key. After I type my computer's pin, it opens a security window which asks me to verify my identity either through an alternative email that Microsoft has on file, or by a code sent by text to my phone number. After typing everything in correctly through one of the two methods, it immediately gives me this error: "We couldn't send the code. Please refresh your browser and try again." I had a similar issue and just fixed it, I am only having this issue with Forza, nowhere else. So I just logged into outlook in an incognito window, and when it sent me the code while logging in, I went back to Forza, and instead of typing in the email/number I clicked "I have a code" and entered the code I had been sent to log into my email. Hope this works for you.

The URL you've hyperlinked is the same for both links. I can't find anywhere where it says Forza 5 does not run on Windows 11.

I'm not sure how you have lost access to your progress and in-app purchases, that is likely a separate issue. However, Windows 11 is not in beta, it's a full commercial release. It's been on general release since October 2021. Forza Horizon 5 is designed to run on both Windows 10 and Windows 11.

There should no incompatibilities for games between Windows 10 and Windows 11. I'm a PC gamer and I play Forza Horizon 5 via Windows 11 and it's working perfectly.

Ok, if you are planning to reinstall Windows 11 and want to keep the Forza Horizon 5 installation on your D drive without having to download it again, there is an approach you can try. Be sure to back up your important files before making any changes to your system.

Back up the game installation folder Go to the location where Forza Horizon 5 is installed on your D drive and copy the entire game folder to a safe place. Typically, the default installation location for Microsoft Store games is "C:\Program Files\WindowsApps". Locate the Forza Horizon 5 installation folder within that location.

Perform the reinstallation of Windows 11 Follow the process to reinstall Windows 11 on your computer as you normally do. This will format your C drive and reinstall the operating system.

Once you have completed the reinstallation of Windows 11, go to the location where the Forza Horizon 5 installation folder was on your D drive and check if the folder is still present. In some cases, reinstalling Windows may have deleted the game installation folder.

If the Forza Horizon 5 installation folder is deleted during Windows reinstallation, you can copy the backup folder you made in step 1 back to the original location on your D drive.

Verify the integrity of the game After restoring the game installation folder, launch the Xbox or Microsoft Store app and verify the integrity of the game. This will allow the application to detect existing game files and perform any necessary repairs or updates.

Hi Francia, thanks for reply I play Forza Horizon 5 on my Windows 11 Laptop and unplugging the Modem/Router didn't help.
