    Logging into xbox


    ive tried almost everything. My birthday passed and now im over 18, so i wanted to take my account off of the family and make my account into an adult account. I contacted microsoft and my account is now an adult account.

    the problem is when i try to log into my xbox it says “ask your parents to sign in” and when i click to chose an adult it only shows my account.

    Any suggestions?

    I am having a problem signing into Xbox live. My brother and I each have a gamertag on one Microsoft account and whenever I try to sign in, a security check pops up. I enter my account info and I get an error message saying it's the wrong info, even though
    I just today verified my info. I can also log into the Microsoft account on the computer. It really is frustrating and really need help.

    Your account is the only one on the console?

    Try removing it and re-adding it.

    First, your Xbox account's age is not connected with your Microsoft age (so if you change that it won't make you an adult). And secondly, the age of your Xbox account is permanently connected with the first date of birth entered when creating the account
    - when that age reaches 18 (20 in Korea and Japan), your account is promoted to an adult account automatically.

    Your Microsoft account can be an adult while your Xbox account can be a child account.

    Please remove yourself from the family group using the info on this page:

    And if it hasn't promoted you already please remove and redownload your account on your console:

    Hey Ryan

    Thank you for providing that update for us.

    From the image you provided, it appears that you seem to be attempting to install something remotely onto your console, but your device is not being recognized.

    Also, an easy way to make sure you can verify you are online and that your subscription is being recognized correctly on your Xbox 360 is to

    start a party    .

    This can be done by following these steps:

    1. On your controller, press the Guide button.
    2. Select Party, and then select Start a Party.

    If this can be done [you do not need to invite anyone to your party] this will confirm you are connected to Xbox Live on your Xbox 360.

    Can you confirm for us if you are attempting to download a title from the Xbox website for us? If you can provide this info, we will be able to identify what is the source of this problem.

    To play online you will need an xbox live gold subscription. However you should be able to log into your xbox and either purchase the subscription or view your current one. Just to be sure, check that your internet is working properly and your console
    is connected.

    Hi there,

    just to be sure can you sign in at
    http://account.microsoft.com     and verify that all information is up to date and no issues are showing?

    Also please check if you can sign in at
    http://account.xbox.com     without any issues to verify if all is fine on account level.

    Be sure to try this on a PC if possible.

    The Xbox 360 is still supported to be used on Xbox Live and Gold is requirement for online gameplay, for single player (not online) games or just connecting to Xbxo Live, Gold is not a requirement.
