Logging into Xbox live on minecraft

I have tried everything i can find but i cant seem to find a solution to the fact that i cant sign into xbox live through minecraft pocket edition on IOS. i have successfully logged in on the xbox app and on my Tablet with no problem but every time i click
the button to sign in it says its connecting for about half a second and then closes the app saying that minecraft has stopped.

i really hope you can help as the reason i got the app was to be able to play with friends which i cant do without xbox live.

I am signed up for xbox live but cant find my Minecraft game under my games or see how to log into xbox live in the Minecraft app on pc

I dont think You can refresh pocket edition it's an app

I'm logging in with my microsoft account, through the microsoft account log in.

I've already migrated my account and it worked, because I played after it migrated. I've been having this issue after I changed to the new minecraft launcher they've released through the microsoft store, and I can't log in to Xbox Live through the Xbox app either.

I am confused by your answer. I have never logged in to Xbox Live. I simply click on Minecraft icon on Windows 10 to start to play. The version is Minecraft Starter Edition for Windows 10.
