    Logging in + controller update issues


    all morning trying to log into my Xbox One system but told me my elite controller needed an update this had taken some time to get that update to work because I am not signed into my system so far, the controller was updated and configured but it will not
    let me to do anything again unable to sign into my system because my controller will not move. When I bought my system around 2016 I wasn't ware of my controller needed anything it is wireless but I use the USB cable. It beginning to look like i need to buy
    a normal controller that will function right. Another thing every time i lay down my controller that Xbox symbol lights up but when i pick up my controller like i am going to play that light goes off it suppose to stay on right ? Anyway, I cannot log into
    my system.

    Xbox One issues on a new console

    make sure you update controllers and update the system. If that does not resolve the issue is suggest replacing it sooner rather than later. Make sure you contact customer support and allow them to track the issue

    Xbox series X. Can only use the "Hold button" function of the share button

    I had to google how to update controller as your instructions where slightly off. It did not need updating.

    I powercycled.

    I have the same issue on both of my controllers.

    I reset the xbox, just finished logging in. Still the same problem.

    Hi helvetica237,

    Sorry you're having issues with your Auto-Login. Are you using the Kinect to log you in, or do you have it setup to just log you in automatically no matter what? Please let us know. If it's the Kinect login try to do the "I wasn't recognized" a few times,
    right by where you login with your profile.

    With the controller, have you tried updating the firmware on it? See the link below. It's for the stereo headset, but the process is the same for any controller firmware updates.

    Hello. As I said on the original post I log in as Razhiel66 and player 2 logs in as (1). The issue is when we go to split screen both controllers are mixed up and controller player 1 or a mixture of both characters. The xbox one controllers and now I have tried the most recent xbox controller have these issues. Is there a way to fix the controller issue?

    Controller update issue.

    Try this:

    Power cycle your console- by pressing and holding the power button for 10 seconds.

    Restart

    Plug in your usb able to the console

    Remove the batteries from the controller

    Plug the usb into the controller

    Go to settings>System>console info

    And do the update this way. (Sometimes you have to press A to get prompted for the update)
