Locked out of account due to 2 step verification - have tried everything!!

Thanks for the reply. I'm sorry to hear about the error message. If you tried to log in or refresh the account credentials on various devices, this will enable the security feature and lock the account. Unfortunately, you will have to wait 72 hours to sign
into the account due to being locked.

I think you've missed what the OP is referring to. The OP is saying that the person deliberately tries to login to your account with wrong information (basically, without knowing your password) and the account gets locked due to suspicious activity (presumably the password needs to be entered wrongly a certain number of times before the account becomes locked)...this then locks the player out of their own account

Account reinstatement form is for accounts that doesn't have 2 steps verification, accounts that have 2 steps verification don't need it as those should be able to use the account verification method

I understand that losing an account is a frustrating situation but the help from Microsoft is limited.
And even more if right now this account has two step verification enabled

I didn't lose it; Microsoft locked it; I have bought games and spent so much of my life on that account, and I want it back . You didn't read it. I removed the 2 step verification. I want my account back. I filled out forms and have done everything on my end. I want my account that I spent money on. Why was it locked turns out Microsoft doesn't even know. They keep changing the reasoning. I like what I paid for migrating the data to another account, but I like the games and everything else I paid for

And why is customer service hanging up on customers
