    Local streaming XSX to PC via Xbox app - any way to extend the idle timeout?


    Sometimes I stream games from my Xbox series X to my PC over my local network.

    Game is running on my console in another room.

    I'm in my games room on my PC.

    Not remote streaming from the cloud.

    I find the idle timeout is really short especially if I tab out of the app to do something else and go back to it, or go to the bathroom.

    Can't find anything in the app's settings.

    Is there a way to extend this timeout?

    I'd understand if it was streaming from the cloud because it's a shared resource, but this is literally all my own equipment on my own network.

    Same here.

    Since a few days, Xbox App stream just show a black screen, whether I want to stream from cloud, my XSX, or XO.

    Old "Companion" app still streams perfectly for XO. Cloud works perfectly from browsers on the PC. It's clearly the Xbox App that's at fault here.
    Did you find a way to solve this?

    I have the same problem in my laptop!! My xbox app don't work for xcloud or stream from my xbox series.

    Hi There,

    Yes this is possible, I stream like this all the time.

    There are two ways to do this first is if you bought an external capture device.

    Second way is how I do it, you can use the Xbox Companion app on your PC to remote play your Xbox, then use a streaming app on your pc to stream the Xbox Companion app. Just note that you may want to join party chats via the Xbox companion app instead of
    on your console and also continue to play via controller on your Xbox to not experience delays playing via the pc app.

    Started having same issue with Xbox Console Companion App. Uninstalled/reinstalled app on PC, reset the XBOX One console and still issue.

    I've started trying to stream via Xbox App. Everything seems fine until actually playing a game. Button presses and using controller seem to stutter, not register.

    So currently cannot stream my Xbox via my PC in any capacity.
