    Local Multiplayer not working despite not playing on the cloud


    Trying to play local coop on demon slayer but nothing happens when I press the start button on the second player controller even though I am prompted to do so. I have the game installed normally, not through the cloud. I'll sign in as a guest with said second controller and when I return to the game screen no input of any sort will cause anything to happen in game. This is the same when I sign in with another xbox profile instead of a guest profile.

    1. What platform are you playing (Xbox Console, PC or phone)

    2. What is the current version and edition of Windows Installed? (Search for WINVER in Windows search to see this)

    3. Xbox app and Gaming services version? Xbox app > select Profile picture > Settings > About.

    4. What troubleshooting steps have you done?

    5. Was this working before?

    6. Recent activity or changes made before the issue appeared?

    I'm on the xbox series s. I can't tell you whether it was working before or not because this is the first instance I've ever tried to play local multiplayer on my series s. I haven't done or changed anything about how my console and profile is set up. I've tried doing it on a guest profile and a separate xbox account to no avail, and I've searched the internet for solutions. Seems many people have had the exact issue but it was because they were playing a game off the cloud.

    Yes, you can play online multiplayer games, however, local multiplayer is not supported on cloud gaming.

    I believe cloud gaming is the list of games that have a 'cloud icon' on the game menu. Is that right? And these games are not supported with local multiplayer.

    How can identify online multiplayer games as I do not have a console? Apologies, if the question is inappropriate. Trying to understand how it works.
