    I had thought something odd was up, when last week, my XBOX One all of a sudden lost the billing information I had in it. It was working fine, but as of last week, I have not been able to use any of my local currency credit toward purchases. Forget trying
    to buy on the web site either, as it just sits there and hangs up. I can buy things, but I have to pay full price, and it doesn't use my credit. This is very bad, with-holding peoples funds like this, because LOCAL CURRENCY has an expiration date. If
    you cannot spend it, it very well may expire. Microsoft is happily collecting interest on it too.

    I have called twice, and the first person said they escalated my issue, but the waiting period has passed. The second call amounted to someone who apparently didn't know how to turn an xbox on correctly. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose with support.

    Then I found a huge thread, that this is happening to a LOT of people. Why has XBOX Live went to poo all of a sudden? Holding our money, be it a bug or not, is not ethical.

    Your account must have payment instrument (Credit card) to use your existing local currency in account.

    How to use local currency: You must first select to purchase using your credit card or PayPal account and then you will see the option to use the currency in your account.

    yeah same boat, I found this on the xbox main website but its the last bit that concerns me , I don't want to go to purchase and find out the game Im buying isn't available for split payment

    Addendum : The only way this can be fixed, is via XBOX Live phone support, and they have to escalate it to the proper people. A lot of people accounts got split, and the information was not being sent correctly. It took an extra day, 5 days or so,
    but they emailed me, and corrected all the information. This is a serious issue they have ran into here, and it doesn't look like its an easy fix.

    It sounds like you've downloaded your profile to a console that has the Xbox 360 Beta Dashboard. This would mean that the points on your account have been converted to your local currency. If you're attempting to purchase content on your console that does not
    have the dashboard beta on it you will see everything in Microsoft Points instead of currency values.

    Unfortunately, this means that you'd need to visit the console that has the beta update on it in order to make any sort of purchases. There's no way to get any other consoles on the beta dashboard update as console registration has closed for this program.
    You'd need to wait until this update is available to everyone later this year (Fall 2013).
