Local co-op/split screen Xbox One (Cloud - On Console)

I have two controllers, both of which work fine. When I am attempting to play an xbox game (Halo Master Chief Collection), which is supposed to support local co-op, I am having trouble adding the second player in the game. I am playing the game via the Cloud option, however through my console at home and not via a phone or anything. Is there a special way to play split screen without downloading the game (I.E. on cloud?) Thank you.

Just for clarification, are you trying to play local co-op / split-screen? Because Halo 5 is the only one in the series that doesn't have local co-op.

Hi there,

If you're trying to play the games co-op, not all games have local co-op ability, sometimes referred to as couch co-op. Forza, while it has online co-op, it does not have local co-op.

There are sites out there that will discuss which games have co-op ability. If you want to play them split screen on the same console, look for games that say they support local co-op.

I'm afraid that isn't possible. Cloud gaming does not support local co-op yet.

It's up to the developers if they support local co-op or not, but 343 Industries (The developers of Halo) have confirmed that all future first person shooters will have local co-op/split screen.

Split screen and local co op may be fading away but a lot of games coming out this fall have co op modes and options.
