I bought my Xbox One X to put on my TV, and did not buy my TV to put on my Xbox. My TV comes first, because it's what brings me most of my entertainment, and enjoyment, but now that I have installed an Xbox, it has taken over my TV, and I don't like it one
bit. I have to go through my Xbox controller to watch TV, and to turn it off, how stupid is that? Just recently an update was done to the home screen, which removed the entertainment section that contained the Live TV section, so now I can't watch TV, and
don't know how to get it back. I'm currently jumping through hoops with phone support trying to get control of my TV back, which is ridiculous, and they don't even know to get it back. Why would you do such a thing, and not realize the problems it would cause. Since
I got the Xbox I can't enjoy my TV anymore, and if anything will be going, it will definitely be the Xbox!

Have you made sure to set up your TV for your xbox? Follow these steps.

The xboxone is supposed to be your all in one entertainment control. So there will be some parts that are controlled via the xbox.

As for having to use a xbox controller you are piping your TV signal though the xbox.

If you do not want your TV through Xbox you could attach it to a different HDMI and flip between the two at your leisure.

Hello, and thanx for the information. I have gotten Live TV back by just shutting down the system completely, and restarting, because I had it set to autostart in TV mode, but now I'm afraid that if I choose to play a game that I will not be able to get
back to Live TV again without having to restart the system again. This is not a problem, but kind of a hassle, so could someone please tell me how to get back to Live TV from the home screen, since the entertainment section was removed? I'm frustrated, because
the entertainment section was just removed without notice, and remedy.

 

A simple fix to this problem would be to disconnect your live tv from your xbox and use another HDMI port to funnel whatever live tv service you have and keep your xbox separate from it, that is what I do.

 

Instead of a heading at the top of the screen, it's now a tile. Look for the OneGuide app.
