Live TV picture quality through X1

Nothing. I did try My Sky box in it at first but it seemed to loose picture quality putting it through the X1, And My Mrs didn't like having to mess about with the X1 just to watch tv. Don't bother having the 360 go through the X1, seems pointless as I have
enough hdmi sockets in the tv for everything.

If you hook your cable box thru the X1 you should calibrate your tv for the X1...there is an actual tutorial under the settings on the X1 that will help you calibrate your tv for the best picture...the picture quality looked terrible while watching cable
tv on the ONE...everything was bit darker and nothing looked real crisp or birhgt from the settings i had for my TV before i got the X1....the X1 will throw your picture quality off a bit so make sure you calibrate it.

Soooo, after over 3 months I have just started to watch TV through the Xbox due to the 50mhz update.

Sadly, I have been forced to disconnect the TV through the X1 due to awful picture quality. When sky is passed through the Xbox, the picture is significantly worse. The image is much darker and overall very drab. I have gone through the X1 picture setup
but this doesn't improve the TV image at all. As opposed to some of the above complaints, I have no issues with menu's, just the picture quality.

Why would I choose to degrade a 52" plasma by passing it through the Xbox One? Again, I really cant believe this is the main selling point of the console, why pay £400+ to turn your £1500 TV into a substandard £300 TV?

TV: Samsung Plasma PS51E550

Digibox: SKY+ HD

Cables used/tried: Original X1 HDMI, Original SKY HDMI, SYNN HDMI (I am not sure if these are 1.4, or even if that will make a difference)

Output: I have tried 720p and 1080p

Bitterly disappointed

I noticed the same poor black levels and overall degradation in the TV picture on my Panasonic Plasma the first day I got my X1. I have DirecTV and tried the suggestions here (720p output from DirecTV, don't use HDMI auto select on the X1, etc.). None worked.

I finally found my issue and the picture quality is back to what it was before the X1. I have a Yamaha AV receiver between the TV and the X1. I noticed in the Devices settings, the X1 did not set the model of my AV during setup. It was "Not Set".
I typed in the full Yamaha model number to get a hit on the list. As soon as I did that and pressed A to select, the screen went blank for a second. I then went to TV and noticed right away that my picture quality was back to normal.
