    Ok, so I got an xbox one in Nov of 2015. In mid Jan of 2016 my xbox one stopped sending video to the tv. So I sent it in I few weeks later I got a different xbox one (different serial number) back. It works fine for games and stuff, but live TV blinks.
    I've tried the recommended unplugging the hdmi cable, I tried several different cables (standard hdmi cables) and they all blink (but just on live TV). Now it's important to mention that by hdmi cable I was unplugging the HDMI connection from the xbox
    to the TV. So I was baffled. Then it occurred to me, that this is just a computer. So if the connection works fine for games it can't be the connection from the xbox to the TV (unless the app is broke and then everyone should be having it. So I checked
    the hdmi connect from the cable box to the xbox and that fixed it. Hope this helps someone else.

    Picture quality degredation, crushed blacks etc. with HDMI input

    Just replaced the standard xbox one cable with a slightly better one & the picture is remarkably better both on blu-ray & live tv.

    Can try but I think is not that. Other people did a console replacement with the same result. I think is because the HDMI signal for certain TV models. I have seen the same with a blu-ray player on a OKI TV, 1080p it blinks sometimes, 720p is fine.

    Maybe it could be some lack of sync between X1 and TV via HDMI in some cases, as 1080p requires more transfer bandwidth.

    But, if in the same TV other devices doesn't blink, then is not a TV failure, it could be a failure in communication between specific device and TV via HDMI.

    Try unplugging the power brick from the console and the wall for about 10 seconds, then plug it back into the wall but not the xbox, if the light is blinking or off you may have to get a replacement,if it is on firmly plug it into the console thennnnnn if

    Can you shoot a video of the blinking and flashing with your smartphone, and do a YouTube link to that video or something like that? Just so we can understand what exactly you mean by blinking.

    Does the picture go out completely, or is the brightness going up and down, or is actual 3D geometry blinking and jumping around?

    It sounds like it could be a faulty port on the TV. Try to call the manufacturer and see if they have a problem with it.
