As many here are probably familiar with, There are a handful of ports that I have always set to be forwarded for my console. I give the console a static IP, and then set the ports to forward for that IP. Everyone I know has been doing this since the 360
came out and I have pointed many people to the support article listing these ports as an ambassador. I just got a new router (Linksys WRT3200ACM, which is not listed in the dropdown) and for some reason forwarding port 53 as recommended causes internet connectivity
loss across all devices on the network. I have never run into this before. I posted my settings in the Linksys forums where someone pointed out that 53 was the likely culprit and suggested that it is not required to be open for Xbox Live. This conflicting
information has me a little confused. Every router I have used since I got my 360 up until today with my Xbox1X has had the recommended port forwarding settings applied to it without issues. To bypass this issue I have my Xbox1X in a DMZ, which seems to be
OK so far. But I would prefer to just use the port forwarding settings I have traditionally used. Does anyone have any input on this?

So after talking to a few people, I have removed the DMZ and all port forwarding settings and my XB1X seems to be operating just fine and has passed all connectivity tests. I have to assume I was trying to solve a problem which did not exist by opening
up all those ports by default without seeing if I had a problem without doing so first. I'll keep it like this until there is a problem.

The ports are forwarded. Looking through the Linksys forums people posted that port 53 shouldn't be forwarded. As soon as I deleted that port and kept the other ports my internet started working again. Port 53 was open on the other router that I used to
own but for some reason with the new EA series of Linksys routers, port 53 must not be forwarded. Anyway, I'm good to go now and no static id is required. Thanks for your help everybody.

Actually I have a Linksys 2000 router, the website does give instructions to open the Nat Type, Linksys E1000, E2000, and E3000 all have the same web interface. Here is the link,

Note: The only thing the article is missing when forwarding ports, you also need to add port 53.

Port 3074 cannot be used on both Xbox 360 & Xbox One simultaneously due to port overlap.

do i use single port or port range forwarding? I also got DNS error when i opened all the ports

I just got a xbox one s last week and on xbox it shows 102 mb for dl speed, I have it Ethernet cable to xbox. when i plug that cable in to my laptop i get 300 mb dl speed. why such a big difference?
