There is no option for mac on dmz for the wrt54g what you would need to do is setup your dhcp reservation for your Xbox ip with mac and then setup that ip on as dmz now every time you connect with Xbox it will always have that ip

Persistent connection errors behind WRT1900AC router

    DMZ as defined by linksys:

The DMZ screen allows one (1) local user to be exposed to the Internet for use of a special-purpose service such as Internet gaming and videoconferencing. DMZ hosting forwards all the ports at the same time to one (1) computer. Port Forwarding is more
secure because it only opens the ports you want to open.

Heres how to setup a DMZ on a linksys, although it may vary slightly for your router

    kb.linksys.com/.../GetArticle.aspx

This is dangerous for a PC but little risk for gaming systems, its a good way to see if you have a port issues before going through the hassle of setting up portforwarding.

Here's more info on the subject of portforwarding btw

When using Static IP on Xbox 360 I always get a Moderate NA - Even when in DMZ, UPnP, and/or Port Forwarding Enabled

Hi what is the make/model of modem that the Linksys is connected to? And as Evo says on use UPnP or Port Forwarding or DMZ not any combination of them , just one

Problem connecting to friend (we both have open NAT)

Do you use any other settings in your Linksys, like Port forwarding or DMZ settings, for your Xbox?

If so, you may want to simplify things. Having UPnP enabled while having Port forwarding or DMZ settings can cause strange behavior in routers.

Using two routers with double nat help

Trying my best to understand your situation

what would help if you could expand more on the network topology example being

    HOUSE 1:

    Internet (ISP)

    |

    Modem

    |

    Linksys Router 1

    |

    |

    | 100 ft Ethernet Cable

    |

    |

    HOUSE 2:

    Linksys Router

    Solution 1: DMZ Zone

The easiest solution would be on both routers login to the web admin panel & tweak a few things

    Router 2

Network Map> Click on WLAN connection for XBOX then (Reserve DHCP Address)

Security> DMZ > View DHCP Client Table > Select WLAN for XBOX

restart xbox and check if NAT is open if not then

    Router 1:

Network Map> Click on Lan connection for router 2 then (Reserve DHCP Address)

Security> DMZ > View DHCP Client Table > Select Lan Device Than for Router 2

    restart both routers and xbox

if that does not work then it means you have a modem/router then double Linksys router

on the modem router combo provided from isp either put Linksys router 1 in the DMZ zone then try again with the reboots.

    Solution 2: Port Forwarding

The harder solution than putting in the DMZ zone would be Port Forwarding the necesscary ports from Modem / Router Combo to Router 1 to Router 2 to Xbox
