Links to 'Help' are often broken and lead to non existing pages.

This all started with an issue with my Xbox controller.

I went to Microsoft's website, and under Devices I found the controller and clicked on "Get help online" which took me here:

https://support.xbox.com/browse/xbox-one

So I can't 'get help online' since it's a dead link.

Now my only option is to ship my controller back and wait 2-3 weeks for it to return, but it still gets worse.

After filling out the info I got an email saying "Here's what you need to do next:"

"Step 1: Verify your serial number" - with this link:

https://support.xbox.com/my-account/warranty-and-service/find-xbox-one-kinect-serial-number?WT.mc_id=EML_DeviceTracker_EN-US_Z1A_RepairTicketCreated

The link is dead.

"Step 2: Prepare your device or accessory for shipment" - with these two link:

"Learn how to properly pack your device" - https://support.xbox.com/my-account/warranty-and-service/packing-and-shipping-instructions?WT.mc_id=EML_DeviceTracker_EN-US_Z1A_RepairTicketCreated

"See what's included with your Xbox Elite Wireless Controller" - https://support.xbox.com/xbox-one/accessories/elite-controller-components?WT.mc_id=EML_DeviceTracker_EN-US_Z1A_RepairTicketCreated

Both links are dead.

Step 3 finally has 2 working links to My account and Microsoft support.

This is infuriating. How can Microsoft have so many dead links around their 'support'. On top of that, finding out how to get support for my device is next to impossible other than calling, which I haven't tried. I can't even find option in the "Online Chat"
referring to my controller. I would love to troubleshoot the issues on my own but it is impossible so now my only option is to wait a month for a new controller.

On top of all this, I can't even fine a Category to properly categorize this post under. Windows? Xbox? There is no Microsoft.com option or Support option. All of this is driving me crazy.

Are there equivalent pages that these dead links should go to?

How can I be sure Microsoft won't return my device without a fix because I did something wrong when I they can't even give me working links to the directions?

Is there a better way to report these issues? Somewhere else I can post this?

Brad, while I do appreciate your response and the working links. My frustrations seem to have no end with the lack of help from Microsoft. It is absolutely impossible to find any reasonable help. Most of the "Get Help" links are dead on Microsoft's own website.
Imagine going to a car dealership where they promise to sell you a good car yet every other car on the lot has smashed windows and cut tires.

After making the mistake of buying a controller directly from Microsoft's website I have had nothing but issues with it. And help is no where to be found. This forum seems to be full of copy/paste answers of which a select few are helpful. Almost always
I'm pushed to the automated support 'bot' who has always been wrong about what I'm trying to find. I don't want to call into support since they don't seem to be able to do anything about my issues.

I do not know how to express just how ridiculous it is that Microsoft of all companies can't even get a working website. All over the website are places for "How are we doing?" which taunt me every time I have to visit this. Every time there is an issue
I put in 1 star and explain the issue, yet nothing changes.

Don't worry, I know it's not your fault Brad, but if you could do me a favor and tell someone, anyone, that Microsoft's website needs a lot of work then that would be nice.

Every experience I've had dealing with this website and Microsoft's support has been frustrating with absolutely no way to report it or get help. It's a scam meant to keep you searching until you give up or call the number. And even after you call the person
on the phone can't do anything either. Since there is no other place to properly explain my issues I guess I had to do it here.

0/10 - absolutely would never buy another product from this website. Walmart offered an extended 1 year warranty when Microsoft wouldn't. Walmart.

Thanks for reaching out to the forums. We are sorry for the issues with requesting a replacement for your controller. Here is a

working guide that should assist you. If still having issues, you can request a call from support.

When you go to Contact Us, follow these steps to request a call from support:

Step 1 ----click on Contact us
Step 2 ----under what you having trouble with select Subscriptions & billing
Step 3-----under what is the issue I can't redeem a code then hit next

Step 4 ----scroll down to select request a call

Once they call explain the issue and they will be able to help you. Note that these options regularly change so just keep selecting something that gives request a call from support as a contact option.

The link is broken. I’ve gone to the same link and will get a page that says “PAGE NOT FOUND: Sorry but the page you’re looking for does not exist” This isn’t an error on the consumers that have bought the product, it’s an issue on the company.

I have exactly the same problem as Aito_makki since today morning. Sadly the troubleshoot support article didn't solve it. Actually I think the article is broken as I ended up on non-existing page.

As great as it is to see a lot of people willing to help, I definitely agree. If anything, they could link support pages to the existing problems that a lot of people post. Simple thing to do which potentially leads to a solution if you're not an expert/support
personnel.
