Linking a recovered account and new into one???

My son forgot the Xbox account password...

Never asked if I maybe had it saved somewhere so created a new account and gave up playing his fav games...cause... This was just how he ended his somewhat sheepish conversation this lovely conversation with me...

" costs it is WAYYYYYY to much get them again, sheesh! It's like 3 years and $600"... Ummm okay .

Unfortunately, he didn't tell me about this until 16 months and about $400 of new purchases, later

Here is the issue, he wants combine the two accounts so he doesn't have to repurchase games and/or continually switch back and forth let alone drive me a bit closer to password insanity ...is this even possible?

It's not possible to merge accounts and nothing can be transferred between accounts.

Is it possible to recover the xbox account and link it to a new one? if not i would be losing a large amount of purchases and linked accounts.

Hello Felix, this process of linking the new account with Minecraft or the games you had in your account would be done if the account had been recovered, they would move everything from the old account to the new one.

As you mentioned that Microsoft's own support was unable to recover your account, unfortunately you won't be able to link to Minecraft.

I think you selected "get a new account" instead of "add new". No problem there anyway since your original account is not lost, you will just need to remove the new account and add back the correct one
to recover everything linked to it.

Be sure to follow the steps on the link provided when adding back an account.
