Link xbox account to an other mail/microsoft account

That is unacceptable functionality. I opened my Xbox Live account over 10 years ago. Microsoft expects me to abandon all of the content I have associated with that gamer tag to link to a Microsoft e-mail? Microsoft must provide a solution. I should
be able to link my Microsoft e-mail with my Microsoft Xbox Live account...common sense here.

Hmmm... I already have a free account with my gamertag, but just to experiment, I signed up with another e-mail, clicked link to Xbox, and somehow it linked to this gamertag, which is seriously odd, seeing as that e-mail is not used in any way for Xbox.

Perhaps if you're already signed into a Microsoft site at the same time when you sign up for elite (say... in another tab), it will link to whatever account you've signed in on the other site... if that makes sense.

I've reset the password for his microsoft account. However when we go on the xbox, his gamertag/logon is linked to the hackers e-mail and won't let us log on. I've tried logging on using his gmail address, but the xbox just states that email is linked to an account being used by the hackers e-mail and won't allow us to log on. The other thing I've just notice is his microsoft account is showing as only having been created on 10 August 2022, even though he's been online for a number of years (as well as being part of my family group on my microsoft account for the same number of years)

We appreciate you reaching out to us with this issue. You would need to sign into your epic account with the e-mail address that is linked to your Microsoft Account typically. There can also be an issues if you used another e-mail to link the account prior.
