Link existing Gamertag to my account.

I reset my console and lost my gamertag link. The gamertag still exists. My account is now linked with a autogenerated gamertag. How do I reconnect my original gamertag with my account?

Thanks for reaching out here in Xbox Forums. I understand there is an issue trying to log into your Xbox profile with the correct gamertag. I recommend to try the following resource article: Find

You cannot merge two different gamertags.

You can however change the email address on the dummy account and this will free it up to use on your main gamertag.

If you made 2 different gamertags, there's no way to merge them.

Normally they will add on numbers at the end of a gamertag if the gamertag already exists.

each gamertag is associated with an specific account and to use an existing one for you, the other account must change gamertag first
