link an old gametag to my new email

you can do that, but what you have to do is to change your assosieted microsoft account, or your email old email, to your new email, but the gametag will be the same

There is no way to directly link 2 Xbox Live gamertag's information together. Even if you link the 2 email addresses, they will still have 2 separate gametags since they were made independently of each other. You will have to either gain access to your
old account or stick with your new one.

I get the gametag on the top right. My old gametag has been retired by Microsoft. They will not allow me to use it even though they send emails to me related to that tag and they say nobody else can have it.
