    Limited download speed while playing


    I always wondered why does xbox limit my download (installing game) speed if I run a game.

    I can clearly understand that when I'm starting a multiplayer game so that download my affect my experience, but why cannot I play singleplayer game and fullspeed download concurrently? Or even better to be able to switch between Speed Limit: ON/OFF

    Or am I missing something about it?

    Speed test pushes your isp to it's limits, you are technically giving yourself a soft ddos when you do it. Downloading games/streaming doesn't usually require such high speeds to be pushed or else if you did then anybody else, or you on your connection
    will have trouble loading anything else online while it's downloading.

    Sometimes servers stop higher download speeds or throttling to protect them from crashing. Basically they limit download speeds for consistency.

    G'day capadel! Are you installing from a disc or are you downloading the game? Xbox One games are pretty big, so they'll take a while to download and install to the console. The time it takes to download from the Marketplace will also depend upon your connection
    speed. However, part way through any game installation a notice will pop up saying it's ready to play! The experience will be limited until the full installation completes, but you can get started while it continues to install in the background.
