David, the saved data of each game in the cloud is linked to your account, so when you purchase the game, whether you buy it through the Microsoft Store or it is included again in the Game Pass catalog, your save data and progress will be loaded automatically without any issues.

thank you for your response. However I don't think that is the problem. this reddit post shows that non-play nywhere games can have cross-progression. Lies of P is also a cloud game. So that should defiently have cross-progress because it's all on the same cloud servers. Maybe I am wrong tho.

Dead By Daylight is also a game that can be played through Xbox Cloud Gaming, yet it lacks Cross-Progression between the Xbox console version and the PC version of the game. Cross-Progression in Dead By Daylight is only possible between Steam and Epic Games:

This confirms that the availability of a game on Xbox Cloud Gaming does not necessarily mean it supports Cross-Save/Progression.

It's important to note that not all saved files on Xbox consoles can be transferred to the PC game version. Only games that are part of "Xbox Play Anywhere" have this capability. These games offer Cross-Save features and also allow you to play them on PC without having to repurchase them:

As you can see for yourself, Lies of P is not part of this catalog. Therefore, the progress made on Xbox consoles on this game is different and completely independent from the progress made on PC and cannot be synchronized.
