    Hello,

    I have a question for experienced people with XBOX 360. I have such a problem, the console after switching not always reads profiles, turns on as "naked", not updated, without profiles.
    I thought I would format the disk. However, I have a lot of games on it, and I have lost data to one of the accounts / profiles and I have some games on it.
    I have transferred all licenses to the console. My question is how to take control over it, i.e. not lose the license and, for example, copy it somewhere, after that format it and transfer it back to the console.
    Will this idea work or maybe someone knows any better?

    Hi there,

    licenses for purchased content is connected to the Xbox Live Account that purchased it, so that Xbox Live Account that owns the license will be able to download the games again (as long as they are available on Xbox Live)

    The console on which the item is first downloaded will also have the license, so that other profiles on that console can play the games too.

    So formatting the drive shouldn't loose you any licenses as long as you have the Xbox Live Accounts that purchased the digital content, which will allow you to redownload the content (as long as it is available on Xbox Live)

    Licenses themselves can't be copied to somewhere. If needed they can be transferred to the console, but keep in mind that transferring licenses can only be done once every few months

    Even after a license transfer, you will need to re download a title or launch it on the new console for the license to "take". Basically the license transfer removes the console license from the previous console allowing you to "reassign" it to the next
    console you load it on.

    So formatting the disc should not be an issue, but it really sounds like you need to go into your profile settings and set on the console what account you want to auto sign in. The OS should not be the issue.

    Thanks for coming to the forums. If you are asking if a digital save can be used with a disk version. Then yes, it is possible as it only is a save for the game. Licenses are issued to your profile for digital games, and disk games the license is on the
    disk.

    no, because there is no point updating a game you don't have a license for, putting the disk proves the license.
