    License transfer didn't work.


    Hi.

    Recently, i got a new Xbox 260 console because my old one had burned out.

    So, after getting it replaced, i just redownloaded some of the games i had lost when i lost the first Xbox, no biggie.

    My brother, Who also has a Gold membership, did the same.

    We go and do our licence transfers, and then my little brother who doesn't have an account tries to play State of Decay, which was under my account and it told him that he had to be signed into the original owners account, or something like that. He tried
    to play Minecraft, doesn't let him unless he's signed into the XB live account owning it. I tried doing the transfer again, and it says that i can't do another one for a few months. This has me quite frustrated.

    Help would be appreciated.

    Xbox won't recognise previously downloaded content on another console

    I tried that but it didn't work, should I transfer license? Would that work?

    Did you redownload the games after you did the license transfer?

    Just to add to what Smwutches has said, you need to re-download the games so that the licenses get updated. Since it is already on your hard drive it will not actually re-download the whole game but just the updated licenses. This should only take a few
    seconds per item.

    Sharing content between profiles

    When you download content it's tied to the gamertag that purchased it and the console it was purchased on. The console license is what allows all profiles to access the content. If you switch consoles, the license transfer would move the console license
    to the new console and should allow all the profiles to access the content again. Go to
    https://xbox.com/drm to start a license transfer. If it shows the licenses being on a different console, then you either didn't do a license transfer before or it didn't work.
