LG 42LB5600 TV controls do not work

So my XBOX One has been my main media center for my TV and it was amazing when it could control the volume and auto-power functions. However, up until a month ago I cannot power on and off the TV in tandem with the XBOX nor can I control the volume through
the iPhone app or voice control. The volume controls are the only ones that do not respond. Everything else works with the app and voice control.

I have reset the TV code by automatically and manually entering the code for my TV. It still does not work.

Granted this is a minor inconvenience as it only takes a few seconds to get off my butt to walk up to the TV to operate it. But it seemed so cool that I could control the TV through one remote or just my voice commands.

If there are any other suggestions, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thank you

    :)

    Best TV's?

LG 42LB5600 is a non-smart TV is rated well and is around $300-400. Vizio's 2014 TVs have been hit or miss but they are relatively cheap and have a good picture.

    LG tv control

Hello I have an LG 65uh6030 I've tried to set it up to have the xbox one s turn it on and off but the set up does not work. When I try to find it manually it's not on the list. Anyone know the code to enter it manually?

Using XBox One S as Streaming Device - 2 Issues

I'm not sure about specifics, but wouldn't it be easier to get a soundbar that works with your TV? For example, I have an LG TV with an LG SB+Sub combo and the TV controls the power on/off of the speakers and also the volume through an optical connection.

Unable to connect system to LG TV

LG's HDMI support is notoriously unstable, not sure if it is the way they handshake or whether their software is poor but it is a long standing complaint you can find in many places on the internet.

Xbox 360 had issues with LG TV's as well (do a web search for xbox one lg tv hdmi and you'll get pages of results including PlayStation issues connecting to LG TV's so not limited to Microsoft).

    Things to try:

On your TV that it works with, set your Xbox One to a lower resolution i.e. 720p then plug it in to the LG TV and see if it works.

Check for a TV firmware update

Reset TV to factory default settings

    Try other HDMI cables

Try a HDMI to AV converter for your sister's TV and use AV cables with your Xbox One when using that TV.

After NXOE, Kinect no longer sends signals for volume control, all else is fine

Mine is doing the same thing but my TV is a LG. I also checked with the phone camera for the IR blast during and after TV setup. During TV control setup I get the IR blast for mute and volume up and it controls the tv. But after setup just sitting on the
new NXOE build I do not get the IR blast for the Mute or and volume commands and every other IR blast command works that I tried besides those.

Can't get the LG 4K TV (60UH6150) to power up/down via console.

    Hello DonC72,

I regret to say I do not have any direct experience with LG 4K TVs. However, the first thing I would suggest is to confirm that the Xbox can control your TV. Go to >Settings >All Settings >TV & OneGuide and select
Device control. Under DEVICES select TV (it may already display LG). Under TV select
TV setup. At this point your Xbox will probability say "Your TV has been set up", but select
Enter it manually. Under What brand is your TV? Select and choose
LG, and click Next. The Xbox will display "Do you want to be guided through TV setup, or do you want to enter the model your?" select
Guide me. At which point the Xbox will take you step-by-step and send codes to your LG TV to turn things on and off like MUTE, VOLUME, MENU and DISPLAY. If all this works, then we know the Xbox can control your LG 4K TV. If not, then this maybe
an issue where you need to be "Using IR extension cables with Xbox One" . Note, that depending on your equipment and installation it can take some time
after the Xbox boots up before it can turn everything on.

    Good luck and good gaming,

Xbox wont display via HDMI/AV cable

No changes or updates to my system sadly. Only change was from one tv to the other tv. This first started happening a week ago. I had it linked upto the LG tv, then the screen just went blank, and hasnt worked since on the LG tv. But as stated it works
    fine on the Samsung tv.

Also it will not work via the AV/Scart cable on the LG, only via the composite cable. Luckily my tv supports all of the above methods for connection.
