Leave Xbox Preview with second hand Xbox one

Hi Ive had a second hand xbox one for over a year and recently noticed constant updates every time i turn it on.

Turns out the previous owner signed the system up for the Preview programme. The problem is I cant deactivate it via the Insider hub. When I try it recognises that a previous user signed up and wont let me deactivate it! Huh?!

Can anyone help me remove preview from my xbox. The updates are driving me crazy.

Hello, I recently purchased second hand Xbox One console that is enrolled in the preview program. When I try to un-enroll the console through the Xbox Insider Hub app it says I need to sign in with the email that was used to enroll the console. I have no
way of retrieving that information as the system was bought from a third party. Is there any way I can un-enroll my console from the program on your end? Thank you.

 

You turn off the Xbox preview in the Xbox Insider Hub.

How can I join the Xbox One Update Preview, or move my console to a different Preview ring?

1. Launch the Xbox Insider Hub on your Xbox One console.
2. On the main landing page, select Insider content.
3. Under System, select Xbox One Update Preview.
   
4. Select Join or Manage.
5. Choose a Preview ring from the available selections.
6. The rings in order are Alpha, Beta, Delta then omega

I tried that. Its a 2nd hand xbox so wont let me deactivate the preview.

 

I purchased the xbox second hand so it won't let me deactivate. Now what?

 

Go to insider Hub app under the programs setting is the lust of previews ypu can choose and select to opt out of it and I think you need to wait 24 hrs and then it gets removed...

Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Now in this case since it doesn't give the option to leave the program, what can be done is a

Full Factory Reset to the Xbox.

Also, before doing this step we must make sure two things:

• Make sure to know your Microsoft Account information (email & password) as you will need to sign back in.
• Make sure to have a secure internet connection: This step will require internet connection to finish the process.

Trued this. No difference. Im still registered for this annoying preview even after a factory reset. If i try to change the settings or unenroll it tells me only the original account can make changes.

What now? Getting very frustrated.
