    LB and RB bumpers have both failed


    Hi,

    I ordered a Design Labs Elite 2 controller in October 2022, and both LB and RB bumpers have stopped working (LB entirely, RB every now and then it will respond). Annoyingly this started around December and I persevered for a month or so as it was only now and then, but it’s now unusable (I also didn’t use the controller once for a full year in that time), and of course out of warranty.

    I have tried to organise an ‘in store’ repair on the Microsoft store but no options available. Have tried to do ‘send away’ repair, but also nothing available and when I ask the chat, there isn’t an option to discuss controllers, so I’m a bit stuck.

    I don’t use the controller a lot, maybe a couple hours a weekend and as I said, for a large part of the time owned it wasn’t used at all so is there any way I can get this sorted somehow? I don’t really want the hassle of trying to repair it myself and then something going wrong entirely, and I won’t be buying a new one as this feels somewhat new still as it is.

    Hi, GrayP41ace,

    I understand you're looking for options to repair your controller. Since it is already out of warranty, Microsoft doesn't offer out-of-warranty repair for standard controllers. Instead, the best option for you is to visit your local gaming shop and have it checked and repaired.

    Additionally, if you have not tried updating your controller, please do, as sometimes issues can be fixed with the update.

    As noted in the patch notes, the command has changed. It's now both bumpers and X (LB + RB + X).

    Hello again Michael,

    If you are referring to the X, LB, RB, X, LB, RB, X sequence on Step 7, Those buttons will be the "Right Bumper" and "Left bumper". the two horizontal buttons above the triggers on the back of the controller. They should be labeled as well.

    Try pushing the RB (right bumper) on your controller..

    RB should function as black button

    LB should function as white button
