Launching the game failed! Missing .minecraft folder files

Alright so.
Me and my pals wanted to play a nice lil game of MC and I was the only one of 'em that got this error on my screen. Yesterday I have created a Minecraft server from ploudos and even played normally on pc with friends. Then. TODAY. I tried to play it again and saw this error on my screen. I didn't know what it ment and decided to delete and reinstall MC again. It didn't seem to do anything because everytime I deleted and reinstalled it, it kept having the same message on the screen when I tried to start a game. I then went to the .minecraft folder and looked what was missing. I was very confused and decided to try and delete everything from the .minecraft folder. I didn't have any important stuff there so it didn't matter for me. Now I have absolutely no idea what to do. Please help me and tell me what to do in order to end this madness.

Checking the pictures, it seems that Minecraft is installed on the D: drive.
If yes, can you try to move - reinstall the game on the C: drive instead?

If that doesn't work try creating a new local administrator user in your PC and try from there

I have also copied and pasted the entirety of the Old Mars and Constellation folders into the Starfield folder (overriding any files). Game still boots fine but still states the two DLCs are missing when I launch a prior save.

Hello Kinda,

Thanks for reaching out to the forums. We understand having issue with an app. If the App is from a third party you will need to reach out to them. If it is from Microsoft directly we recommend posting in a Microsoft forum for the issue as this is for Xbox
troubleshooting. Only thing I can suggest is uninstall and reinstall of the app, which you may have already tried.

Hi Ben, I'm experiencing the same issue and this solution did not work.

Additional troubleshooting steps already taken include (in chronological order):

Verify game files
Quit Xbox (from system tray)
Attempt to launch game (failed)
Uninstall game from xbox app
Install on different drive (I have game folders on both an SSD & HDD)
Attempt to launch game (failed)
Full system reboot
Attempt to launch game (failed)
Quit Xbox (from system tray)
Create desktop shortcut & "Run as Administrator"
Attempt to launch game (failed)

You can check it under Settings > General > Minecraft: Java Edition Settings > Show historical versions of Minecraft: Java Edition in the Launcher. You can also try deleting your Minecraft files, look for “.minecraft” file located in the AppData folder. Type “%appdata%” in the Windows search bar. then delete the “.minecraft” file completely from the folder that opens. After this step, by opening the Microsoft Store, you can try to download the Minecraft Launcher application and launch the game.

If it persists, I suggest you check with Minecraft team so their technical team can further check this error code. You can submit the request using the link below:
