Latest update starts automatically game in disc drive?

Hi, it looks like the console was updating from a game disc and the disc was removed before the update completed. Can you remember which disc was last in the console? If not then start with the latest game you purchased, maybe GTA 5? Pop the disc into the
disc drive and the console should complete the update.

Pretty sure the X1 will not update games automatically if game was disc install, UNLESS the disc in still in the drive.

Hence I'd have to disagree with Maximum - surely it's better to leave disc in so that game updates will happen even when X1 is on stand-by.

Go to Xbox Home.

Insert the game disc into the disc drive. Note After you insert the disc, the default option is for the game to start automatically.

Select the game you want to install to your hard drive.

Press the X button  on your controller.

Select Install.

No. You need digital copies for them to automatically update. Any disc based game will not update because it cannot verify your license without the disc in the drive. Still glad they reversed all the policies? LOL

There used to be an option in the system settings that allowed you to choose what happened when a game disc was put into the drive, either automatically start the game or not, it may still be there.
