  1. Latest update (July 2018)

The latest update on Xbox has left me really disappointed with the console and its future. It seems to me like they are taking steps backwards. My main problem with this update is the removal of pins and the change of them into 'groups'. Pins used to be
an option on the snapped part on the left side of the screen and allowed easy access to an app whilst playing a game, for example music like Spotify. This has been replaced with alerts and means now you have to go out of your game, onto the home then the app
whereas before you could load music apps straight whilst playing!

I want something about this to change because other platforms seem to be making progress in the right direction and I may end up even leaving Xbox for good because of this change.

    :)

  2. Xbox console update 2018 July

There is a known issue with this, for those that got the update early.

All you need to do is a full power cycle and let it redownload the 2 updates and your system should be back up and running.

If it gets stuck in the loop, follow the steps for a restore by holding down the eject and power button down.

Hi, you can still find your pins, by going to my games and apps on the guide (Snapped left side of screen), then your pins will still be there waiting for you for you to select.

  4. As StuartATrueRed mentioned, Pins are still accessible and usable. If you wish to give feedback/ideas, you can do so on the
Xbox User Voice website ! Be sure to search to see if your suggestion has been made yet and upvote the existing one, if not then feel free to make a new one. In the Xbox Insider preview, I wasn't
a fan of the new groups either but after a couple weeks, I've been finding them more useful than just the standard Pins group!

If you are talking about listening to music on spotify while playing a game I know for sure you can do that because last night I was on wolf among us Listening to music on spotify. all you need to do to solve the problem of changing songs and have to back
out of you game. Do what I do just make you a long playlist of your favorite songs and when its something on that playlist you don't want to listen to all you got to do is press skip.

Simply name your first group pins and apply it to the top of your home screen. As far as the guide goes, instead of tabbing over to it like the old way you simply click groups and it is right there at the top (named pins) as your first group. I am absolutely
not trying to make light of your complaint just that there really isn't that drastic of a difference with the new update and to the contrary it allows for far greater customization than before.
