Latest Update 2006.200609-0000 bricked my system, cannot reset or restore

Well, I just left it on and an hour later the Troubleshooter came up. I tried to "Reset this XBOX - Restore factory defaults" from the Troubleshoot menu and I get System Error: E106. I also loaded the factory reset system update to my USB and same problem.
So it seems that I cannot do a factory reset. I then copied the latest OSU system update to the USB and was able to start an offline system update but it has been stuck at step 1 of 3, downloading (23%) for several hours now. This is really frustrating. I
will let it sit for a while and see if there is any progress or if it is just hung. Thanks everyone.

How i can restore the system?

Ever since the latest update my console has been a brick...

The only solution that works right now for sure is to exchange it or turn it in. I went through four separate exchanges, but my new console works perfectly. There are two new updates that fix the problem, but my understanding is once the defective update
is on the system, they can't overwrite it and the factory restore isn't really a factory restore (it still keeps the latest update).

If the console is enrolled in a Insider preview OS, OSU1 (offline system update) cannot be used to restore the xbox console system files. It needs to be factory reset.

If using a wired ethernet cable connection, it must be disconnected from the console prior to attempting a Offline System Update.

E101 generally points to a hardware fault with the console and requires repairing if factory reset fails.

Support cannot help with self-repair.
