Latest OS update encountered a problem.

My Xbox One S was installing OS 10.0.19041.6288 a few nights ago (I had the latest OS if that’s of any importance to resolving this issue) and I didn’t get any notification of this. I was tired and my Xbox was making noise so I unplugged the power source mid update. I had no idea it was installing this update .

The following day when I got on it notified me that I had to install this new OS. It was around 584 MB and I still had a little over 200 GB of space left. It would update until it hit 17~18% (480 MB remaining) and send me to the error page. It told me I had Error code 0x80072EFE 0x00000000 0x00000206. I tried restarting my Xbox, doing a hard restart by holding down the X on the console a few times aswell as trying it along with holding the sync button for syncing controllers. I tried restarting my wifi and ethernet and this too did not work. It was recommended to check my connection to Xbox live and make sure I was connected... I was not. I tried to connect to Xbox live but it would send me back to the faulty update every single time. I decided I would reset my Xbox entirely, but seing as I was not connected to Xbox live, I could not keep my games, apps and progress for my games with the cloud. My only option would be to do a Factory Reset. I decided to transfer all my most important games and apps onto a hard drive.

Do I keep my progress from my games when I copied them onto the hard drive, or could you tell me how to check if I kept the progress? Restarting my Xbox is my last resort and I want to make sure there’s no other option before I do. There’s no way for me to connect to Xbox live without updating my Xbox, which is impossible to my knowledge. I have been looking for other solutions, but I found nothing... Your help would be greatly appreciated.
