Latest mandatory update for flight simulator 2020 not showing up or downloading in...

If you’re stuck on the Flight Simulator 2020 checking for updates loading screen, these are the fixes that players have reported:

• Restart the game
• Run as administrator
  • To do this, type ‘Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020’ in the Windows search bar, right-click, then run as administrator
• Download latest Windows updates
• Download latest Nvidia driver updates
• Disable Windows firewall (I finally get off that screen when I performed this step).

None of these resolves the issue - I have done it all.

Delete it, reinstall it, problem solved, Microsoft and company have no clue what regression testing is when they send out a patch.

I would like to add a little bit of additional info for those who this may not work for -

It turns out there are TWO different Xbox apps. The X Box Companion App (the older one) and the newer just "xbox" app.

I wasn't aware of this because the app doesn't ask you to upgrade unless you sign out of it (which I never needed to.)

So if you still can't find a update make sure you have the actual xbox app, not the companion app.

A little silly that there are 4 different places to update the game (well, 3 if I don't need the companion app anymore.) I hope they don't decide to start adding ones to windows update ...

Congratulations Microsoft. You redirect people to MS store to update the game, but you can only update it from the XBox app, bravo :-D (sry I replied to you Jesse, I know you're not Microsoft )

Downloading the xbox app solved the problem. Microsoft store started downloading the update.
