Latest build does not auto-assign headset

Hi, to add to XBF Brad A's post are you using a wireless headset and are you in the Xbox insider Preview. At the moment there is an issue with an Insider build that doesn't assign wireless headsets. Go into settings and check your headset is assigned.

Another thing to check, is enforcement to see if you have a suspension:

I have the same headset and occasionally have an issue where it does not recognize the microphone on them. i can usually solve it by unplugging and reconnecting the USB cord.

Did you update to the latest firmware? This may have to be done via a PC.

Do you have the APP on the console to configure the headset?

Have you assigned the headset to a user (yourself)?

I am assuming you have it connected via the optical cable and USB for the power. The base is set to Xbox.

Are you in the Xbox Insider Preview? As there is a known issue with headsets not assigning. You have to go into settings>kinect & devices>devices & accessories and assign the headset to your profile. If that does not work try unplugging the USB for the
base station and restart the Xbox, then plug the base station USB back in and check that it has assigned.

I just double checked on the console here. Controllers can be assigned to people but not headsets so that's totally expected behaviour.

What is the expected behaviour with wireless headsets that use a USB transceiver? I have this exact issue and it would be great if only one controller was in use the console auto assigned the headset to that controller.

As it stands I’ve tried:

1. Connecting the controller first, then turning on the headset. It doesn’t assign & I have to manually go into the Accessories app and assign it.

2. Connect the headset first, then turn on the controller. Same thing. Does not assign.

This is frustrating and if as intended please raise as something to be fixed. We should be able to either lock a headset to a gamer tag (like we can with a controller) or have an option to assign to controller if only one connected, or even better have a
pop up dialog when an unassigned headset is detected allowing a quick assignment each time.

I reassociated it. That went fine. Ut i noticed that under headset of the controller the headset is not assigned to the controller and i cant click it to assign it. It shows a headset but cant assign it.
