    Laptop overheating when playing games

Recently my laptop, which is a surface book 2, has started to overheat when I play the game Destiny 2. I've had this game for months and cannot remember this happening at any other time. But now just a minute or two after I log in my computer starts heating
up and the internal fans start running at full speed. The only thing that is new is that I have just started using the Wireless Adapter for Xbox controllers, but in an attempt to rectify the issue I have already removed the device and uninstalled the associated
drivers. However, the issue still persists. Any help would be appreciated, thank you in advance.

    :)

In addition, there are those laptop coolers meant to help with this as well, figured that cant hurt much to try it also

Gaming laptops do not have the cooling power of a full rig. Whenever gaming on a laptop I always recommend using an external cooling system (the stronger the better) to prevent damage to your device. Yes, for the first few months it will not seem to overheat,
but over time of constantly barraging your system with those intense temperatures you'll start noticing the internal cooling lacking and the overall system heating up tremendously. I recommend the Cooler Master Pad or the Tree New Bee cooling pad, being top
rated for high end gaming cooling.

    Hello!

Usually, with ultra-slim devices packing high-powered hardware, heat dissipation is a huge problem. And it can really show when you're putting every single part of it under heavy load, like playing recently released games. It also strongly depends on your
room temperature. Since I also play games on a laptop, I had to deal with this problem myself too. Here's what you can do to mitigate the issue:

    - First and foremost, use programs that allow you to monitor your device's temperature while you're in game. MSI Afterburner combined with RivaTuner Statistics Server is my personal choice. Should you notice your temperature rising out of control, you should
quit the game and allow the device to cool down to prevent potential permanent damage to it. (I would consider temperatures over 90°C to be potentially harmful over long periods of time)

    - Try to close programs running in the background while you're playing games, as they might put additional load on your processor.

    - Lower your game's graphical settings and set a limit on your FPS (Frames Per Second) you would consider the game to be playable at.

    - Keep your room cool.

    - Undervolt your processor. By reducing the voltage at which your CPU operates, you can make it run much cooler (and draw less power!) at the cost of system instability if not done right. The benefits of this, however, are huge.

Should you need any more help, I'll be glad to assist you further!

Laptop keeps shutdown while playing games without any message or pop ups.

Hello, Tahsin. Thanks for reaching out! My name is Lucas, and I'm an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft user just like you. I'll be happy to assist you today.

It looks like a hardware problem to me. Overheating is one of the first and most common reasons your computer or laptop shuts down unexpectedly, particularly when you're playing a game.

Can you install any software to measure your CPU and GPU temperatures to see if they are fine or if your computer is overheating?

Laptop CPU Temperatures running way too hot when playing Sea of Thieves

It is usual for laptops that they are overheating, also if your laptot did not shut-down during high temperatures - it means temperatures are not too high to shut it down. Also try to clean the computer and check if fans are working as they supposed to
do. Main thing, do not play the game in bed if blanket is under your laptop, it is obvious that temperatures are high.
