  1. Languages mixed up in Closed Captions when I try to rent or buy a movie.

    Hello community,

My problem is not that big of a deal but I thought I better post here in case others have the same trouble and I want a solution in any case.

I have bought a bunch of movies for my family's enjoyment on my XBox One Halo 5 edition.

We are on the East Coast USA and our preferred language is English.

Today I went to buy another for tonight and watched the trailer.

All of the closed captions are in German.

I am afraid to get the movie now because I don't want to be stuck with German captions. (I have hearing issues)

The movie is Vacation with Ed Helms & I think Christina Applegate.

I checked my settings and they are set to English so I am baffled here.

Any suggestions are welcome Languages mixed up in Closed Captions when I try to rent or buy a movie. :)

    :)

    Rent Movies?

I have a Xbox 1 and I am trying to rent a movie. When i try to rent a movie i get a notification that says that i can not buy or rent videos right now. The reason it gives me is that i need to be in the region for my xbox profile. After going online and
trying to change it my profile sets the language to the area that i am in. i do not understand the local language so is there any way i can change my region without changing the language setting?

  3. Xbox One Won't Play Closed Captions

I bought the complete Avatar: The Last Airbender for Christmas for my daughter Charlotte, who is slightly hard of hearing.

My daughter is distraught. The closed captions don't work on Xbox One.

The box set says it has closed captions.

When I try to turn on closed captions from inside the DVD player, I get the red slashed circle for "nothing doing."

When I go to the settings and turn on closed captioning, nothing happens at all.

FWIW here's the exact box set we bought:

    https://www.amazon.com/Avatar-Airbender-Complete-Zach-Tyler/dp/B011MUA592/ref=sr_1_1?s=movies-tv&ie=...

Every support article and forum post that I read says closed captioning is supposed to work. Please help.

    Xbox one movie subtitle

It may seem obvious, but since I don't own a tablet nor buy movies on demand (therefore can't really test it myself), there's a good chance that the movie you've downloaded to your Samsung doesn't actually contain subtitles (shocker)! If you want the 'full-fat'
experience, the best and most assured means of closed captioning is to buy or rent BD, DVD or UHD media.

    Changing a game's language

The only way to get subtitles in Portal 2 is by going into Audio Settings --> and then selecting Closed Captioning. If the desired closed captioning language is not there, i believe the game does not support the closed captioning you are looking for. Sorry.
