  1. Language problem on Xbox App for Windows 10

My system was in English at the beginning, then I wanted to play Prey in Chinese, I am certain that Prey supports Chinese as it shows in the game description, but there is no language option in the game. I assume that the language in the game is the same
as the system language, so I changed my system language into Chinese, and it worked. The Xbox App is still in English though, the game is in Chinese.

However, today the language of the Xbox App suddenly changed into a language I can't read, probably Arab, my system is still in Chinese (non-Unicode as well and UTF-8), and the game is also still in Chinese.

The strange thing is that it was working just fine before, and the change of the language just happened out of blue.

Is there a way to fix this?

    Thank you.

    Bruce

    :)

Language problem on Xbox App for Windows 10

    1. Go to Settings -> Time & language. Select "Region & language" tab, and then remove all languages except English (United States).
    2. On the same "Region & language" page, click the link "Additional date, time, & regional settings" at the bottom. A Control Panel window, "Clock, Language, and Region", will be opened.
    3. In that window, click the "Language" link at the right pane. The "Language" window will show up. Click on the "Advanced settings" link at the left.
    4. In the Advanced settings window, click on the "Restore defaults" at the bottom. and press the "Save" button. You will be sent back to the "Language" Control Panel window. Click the "Advanced settings" again.
    5. Back on the "Advanced settings" window, click the "Apply language settings to the welcome screen, system account, and new user accounts" link at "Override for Windows display language" section. A "Region" window will show up.
    6. Check that the Current language for non-Unicode programs is English (United State). If it's not, then press the "Change system locale..." button to change it. You will need to restart after the change.
    7. Now please follow the procedure at
      Reinstalling preinstalled apps
and reinstall all preinstalled apps. After it's done, wait for a few minutes and then check your apps' titles on the Start menu.

Substitute English for your languge of choice.

How i change the language on Xbox APP

Hey, I found a similar thread with the solution. I'll quote it an provide it as a reference for you, "Xbox App uses the language that you have assigned
as your preferred Windows language. In order to change that, search for "Language" (type this in your Windows language if you're not using the English version) in the search bar on Windows and then the language panel will come up. (It's the same panel you
use if you want to change keyboard preferences) The language which is in the top, is the one that the Store and all it's apps use. Just get the language you prefer in the first spot and the Store along with all the apps and your keyboard will use this as preferred
language." That was from user snikefriend.
