    Lag in games despite really good network speeds


    I am receiving lag in games which comes in the form of stuttering around every 15-20 seconds within Call of Duty (and other games) in which a group of 3 small orange coloured squares appear on the left side of the screen. The issue is present with both a
    wireless and wired connection and my connection speeds exceed the requirements for online gaming. I have tried port forwarding and my Xbox is connected to the 5 GHz section of the network. The problem was happening on my old Xbox One and now on a Xbox One
    X which I have recently bought, so it is not a hardware issue. When downloading games the connection speed can be seen to fluctuate so I am not sure whether a fluctuating connection speed is the problem. Please can someone help as this is really ruining my
    experience on Xbox.

    My average network statistics when tested on the Xbox are:

    • Download: 220 Mbps
    • Upload: 5 Mbps
    • Latency: 40 ms
    • Packet loss: 0-1%
    • MTU: 1480
    • Wireless Strength: 100%

    It will most likely be due to the current virus situations.

    A lot of popular online games are having to add more servers and Internet Service Providers are having to slow people down

    Sometimes its the server of the game itself, specially right now when everyone is at home playing all the same games.

    I have the same problem too. Well the problem is the new update or the servers that are not working. Microsoft at the moment is doing a new update for the Xbox. So try waiting until next update.

    Really strange. I say that because I am having some lag problems but my download speed shown by xbox is completely wrong: it says like 1 mb download and the usual 15-20 in upload.

    And that’s probably because of the too many players connected due to lockdown

    So, probably you just have to wait. Servers are over used and a lot of people are having problems right now.

    Damn virus situation. Lot's of people on servers all arround Usa and the world. I have peoblems every day. One moment everything works ok, second I can run faster tham my bullet.
