Kodi app not giving option to install on Xbox One

Hello,

Are there any known issues with some consoles not being able to download Kodi? When I go to store, then apps, and select the Kodi app, my Xbox is telling me that It is only available for PC, and it doesn’t allow me to select anything after that. I can’t
install Kodi. My Xbox one is up to date although latest update states it was on 12/8/2017. I did notice that the supposed Kodi update to Xbox one wasn’t made available until 12/29, so im rather confused as to whether I'm actually up to date. Can anyone help?
Any known issues? Any help is so appreciated!

You can't is the short answer.

Kodi while now available in the Windows 10 store still only works on PC's, it is not compatible with Xbox. To work on Xbox would require big changes which are unlikely to happen.

There is an Apple app store friendly off shoot of Kodi called MrMC but they have said they aren't interested in doing an Xbox version at this time.

To make the Xbox see the Kodi media library you must turn on the UPnP server in the Kodi settings\services section then browse that via the media player app on Xbox. A far better approach is install something like Emby or Plex server on the PC and use their
clients on the Xbox.

 

Im having a similar problem only i accidentally uninstalled the dang thing and now it shows it as owned in the store but it isn't in the waiting to be installed section where it should be. So I can't reinstall it at all.

 

Same here .... installed...... then uninstalled and no longer have the option of downloading through store. Shows owned in the store.

 

I am having the same problem as most here. I uninstalled it and am trying to reinstall it and the option is not there. Any help would be awesome.

I talked to support,the guy told me kodi is only available for PC at this time and to contact the apps publisher.

 

Same here,like a dumb ass I tried the no limits build,installed it then kodi wouldn't load.Uninstalled it then couldn't reinstall.Talked to support and was told kodi is no longer available on the Xbox one only PC.Then was told to contact the apps publisher.No
help.
